The Undeniable Beauty of Reclaimed Wood

Call us biased but we think there’s little more attractive than products made with reclaimed materials. The grain, the texture, the look, feel and even smell – reclaimed wood is quite the treat for the senses.

We take a look at the beauty of the material that we use in our authentic, handcrafted rustic homewares.

Our wood comes from a variety of sources – from reclaimed barn wood, panelling, reused construction materials along with salvaged pallets and scaffolding boards too.

The benefit of this approach is that every piece of reclaimed wood – whatever it’s source – has its own unique look. The grain and texture shows the impact of its previous life. This is what makes it so individual and is the main factor in its appeal.

The aged look often comes with salvaged wood that has been saved from rural old barns, farm buildings, factories, and warehouse pallets giving the piece unique tones and patinas that simply cannot be recreated by any other means.

We love to create new pieces utilising reclaimed wood and to give it another life. The use of unique wood with its natural markings, holes, patterns, knots and grains, grooves, and imperfections make the piece both unique and attractive.

The impact of nature – the weather, the light of the sun, the strength of the wind and harsh rain along with it’s previous usage has a natural impact upon on the materials and thus the look and feel of the finished products we create.

Beyond the undeniable beauty and durability of our products made using reclaimed materials, there’s the benefit of knowing that each piece comes with it’s own story, character, personality and an untold history that lives within.

What could be better than that?
